CINCO, the development process

CINCO, the development process

creating pieces is always a challenge. there is still a learning curve involved in creating fine jewelry. I have to tell you that I'm far from perfection and not all designs reach that point. when I first started designing pieces, it was the same. I started with the smallest, thinnest pieces. I decided not to risk too much. I counted the grams. I thought a lot about the final cost. I made calculations. but, of course, excel turns out to be the enemy of creativity. on the other hand, projects have to be financially sustainable when resources are not infinite. when the person doing the design is the same person who wants to be financially responsible for the project, there are countless creative dilemmas. that's why the journey is slow and the results take longer. of course, that doesn't mean that we aren't making interesting pieces, or that we aren't exploring new territory.

this month I'm bringing you five new pieces in gold and diamonds. I'll start with a funny one. a smiley face (smile 18k diamond earring) in the form of a piercing, just because I felt like it and I think it closes the chapter of very small earrings for a while.

then we move on to two strands where I play with gemstones and fine meshes (five lucky diamond 18k necklace & emerald and diamond 18k diamond necklace). timeless pieces, perfect for everyday wear and eternal gifts.

finally, we have entered an area that we have been asking about for a long time and for which we have been trying to find alternatives: rings to commemorate moments of love. first, a simple proposal ring (solitaire diamond ring) and then a wedding ring (li 18k diamond engagment ring). but with this ring we tried to go a little further. we thought about what relationships are today, full of history, before a wedding or a reunion to symbolize something. in this ring, each couple can set the number of diamonds they want to represent the years they've been together or any other symbolism, such as the number of people that unite them.

designing jewelry is a process and buying it should be too, after all these metals took thousands of years to form and will take many more to pass down through the generations.
